Meet the Doctor
Dr. Jon Silcox
Welcome to Silcox Orthodontics! Choosing a doctor can be tricky because we all want the very best result for ourselves and those we care about. I would like to tell you about myself and my training so you can feel confident that you are receiving the very best orthodontic treatment.
I graduated Magna Cum Laud from Brigham Young University and was the Senior Student of the Year in my college. I attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill which is consistently ranked one of the top 5 dental schools in the country and graduated in the top 5%of my dental school class. While in dental school I fell in love with the orthodontic profession and was accepted into UNC’s prestigious three-year orthodontic residency program.

I graduated Magna Cum Laud from Brigham Young University and was the Senior Student of the Year in my college. I attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill which is consistently ranked one of the top 5 dental schools in the country and graduated in the top 5%of my dental school class. While in dental school I fell in love with the orthodontic profession and was accepted into UNC’s prestigious three-year orthodontic residency program. I studied under the best of the best, even William Proffit, the father of modern orthodontics. In 2007 I received my Master’s degree in Orthodontics and Oral Biology at UNC. After my residency, I taught in the UNC Orthodontic department as adjunct faculty. I enjoyed my years of training, but the most rewarding part of my career has been taking that knowledge and transforming people’s smiles and the way they feel about themselves.
Outside of the office I enjoy water and snow skiing and riding my bike–road or mountain it doesn’t matter. I’m a die-hard Carolina fan and root for my Tar Heels any chance I get. (Don’t mention the 2016 NCAA National Championship game or I might cry.) I owe a great deal to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and am a huge supporter and advocate. I am the lucky one who gets to be in every initial exam with Dr. Silcox and our patients. I love watching the process from starting orthodontics to final records. Seeing how much our services change our patients and their smiles is the most rewarding part of my job. Dr. Silcox is great to work with. Add my coworkers in the mix, and it truly feels like family. I love helping our patients get on their way to a beautiful smile!
When I’m not in the office I like to be outdoors with my family. In the winter you’ll find me strapping on skis or a snowboard. In the summer it’s time to hike and camp. I also enjoy cheering on my girls at the BMX track.

I’ve worked in many offices, but I have to say Dr. Silcox is my favorite boss. The staff is also amazing. My job is to make sure every patient receives the maximum insurance benefit possible as well as ensure payments work within every budget. Our patients are the best!
When I’m not working you can find me at 5:00 am teaching Pilates or working out at the gym. I also love to hike, work in the yard, and play with my puppies that keep me more than a little busy!

I hold the record of the longest employee at Silcox Orthodontics and have been with Dr. Silcox since his first day in private practice. I love my job and our patients. When patients need pictures, records, molds, or retainers, I’m here to help.
On my days off life is busy with grandchildren. Mine really are the cutest. (I’m not biased at all!) I also enjoy spin classes and lifting at the gym. Exercise is important to me. Lucky thing I consider all the walking while I shop a form of exercise.
